Emo-ed.. again.

Sigh..

Definitely not looking forward to this coming week. Booking in isn't the problem this time. First of all there's field camp next Saturday, and that translates into:
  • 6 days without bathing (well, they promised us a shower on the 5th day)
  • 2 weeks confinement, so we don't get to book out this week.
  • Getting hard-to-wash-off-camou-cream on your face.
  • Sleeping with my insect friends.

The other thing which I'm not looking forward to the most, would be when my maid of 12 years leaves for Spain. She's been working for us since I was 5 and she's somewhat like family to me. Tasha's also gonna be devastated! She'll turn emo too. Just feel that it's gonna be hard to continue without someone to take REALLY good care of Tasha.. Sigh. Both of them are like best buds, cuz day in and day out Aunty Ele and Tasha are always at home. So yeah.. it's gonna be hard for all of us.

Sigh..

Emo week ahead..

Too much..

What a week it was..
Failed to be a Marksman thanks to my screw up during night shooting. Lost my cool when I wasted my best chance by missing a whole magazine of 4 rounds. DAMN! I'm pissed! Hate night shooting! Dumbass flashing target!!!
~
Oh well, tough luck I guess.
~
Last night was crazy as well. Met up with some of my platoon mates for steamboat dinner at Marina Bay. It was great despite the fact that only 8 of us went. After that, 6 of us made our way to Taboo. Had 'some' drinks, and I must admit, that was the most I've ever taken. Details will be spared. Managed to hop onto a cab along with Izzat and it was a suprise that I even found my way home. Ha. No more drinks for another 1 month or so. My liver is screaming in protest. Lol.
~
Ugh! Hung over and my book-in is tonight. Great. What a way to start another week of 'torture'.

2 weeks..

I'M BACK!!! for 2 days

It's great to be home!!

But damn!! I'm sick!! Dunno how I managed to go through 2 weeks of hell in Tekong! Made some new friends in my platoon and especially my section mates. It's gonna be another 2 and a 1/2 months of blood, sweat and tears together with them... and I hope the bond grows stronger after each day of getting tekan-ed together.

Oh.. and hopefully nothing's wrong with my shin and left elbow. Sustained injuries to these areas during my 2 weeks of confinement in Tekong. I've already missed out on 6 days of training thanks to a virus and the 2 injuries. But all in all... It's great to be home. Well, 2 days is better than none! Especially when you get punished for stupid reasons and they make you do guard duties on weekends. That SUCKS!

Hope to be back safely next week for the next entry!
Aiming to be Top Shot in my section if not my platoon!

Over and out.

It's time..

Had a "farewell" party organised by Brandon Sim last friday, and we agreed to have it at my house. Bao, Meifang, Jolene, Jasmine, YiRui, Ivan & Brandon were the only ones that managed to turn up, and it was GREAT to see them again before my enlistment into NS.
Thanks N'DeViLz!
~
Hope to see all of you soon..

Good luck fer upcoming exams and everythin else!

Oh.. those days..

Man.. miss those days when I could just sit back and chill with all my bros back in Perth. All those badminton "adventures"! All those parties and good times. Sigh. Damn.. I can feel the Perth happiness slowly ebbing away as the days past. Not good. Not good at all.
~
Getting pretty bored of watching "Lost" episodes almost everyday. Devoured season 1 and 2 in a matter of days. Not bad huh? Now I've got to be patient fer season 3 to hit the shelves... but by then.. I'd most probably be stuck in the "wonderful" world of National Service. Sounds like fun. Yeah right...
~
Ok.. guess I'll be on an extremely LONG hiatus. We'll see when the next post comes..
Prob 4 months later..
Sheesh..
Oh boy.. here we go!

300!

WOOHOO! I managed to sneak in to catch the movie "300"! IT WAS AWESOME!! Felt this great satisfaction with all that cutting and slicing. Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, "300" retells the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Sounds cool eh?
The movie is rated M18 over here in Singapore.. which is totally ridiculous. Besides violence, MORE violence and.. ahem.. nude scenes, there was nothing else that made it M18. Sigh.. oh well.. YOU should watch it! It's definitely on my favourite movies list and it could well be a classic. One of the coolest movies yet.. amazing!
Here are a few stills from the movie.

It is cool.

You'll enjoy this.

The Rose.

Some say love it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
~
Some say love it is a hunger
An endless aching need.
I say love it is a flower
And you it's only seed.
~
It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance.
~
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give.
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live.
~
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long.
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong.
~
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the Sun's love
In the spring becomes the Rose.

Alone.

Up late at night,
I lie here wondering,
What life means,
Especially with you missing.
~
Praying that you'll come back,
I know it won't be given.
But this is not fair,
As you have been taken.
~
As tears fill my eyes,
I try to look for a peace of mind.
Gazing up at the heavens,
I hope that you're the one I find.
~
All alone on this Valentine's Day,
I wish that you'd stay.
Why did you leave so fast?
Is this fate, you say?

Dare to Hope.

Ever watched the movie "The Shawshank Redemption"? If not, then you're missing out on something. I gotta thank Lionel big time for pestering me to watch it. It was an awesome movie - inspiring, touching & satisfying.

The Shawshank Redemption - a must watch.

The movie is about the enduring human spirit, perserverance, friendship and hope. Friendship is an essential part to life. Without friends, where do we find comfort and support when we're away from home studying overseas? Where do we find that intimate relationship and unbreakable bond that can only be found in friendship?

Hope is the sun and warmth after the storm.

However, I feel that hope is the crux of shaping up one's life. It is the very foundation that allows people to live and build upon their dreams. Hope is the one thing that is left to us, in a bad time. Without hope, what else is there to hope for?

But there are arguments, saying, "hope is a dangerous thing". Is hope a dangerous thing? I think the only time when hope is dangerous, is when it is classified under false hope, for the outcome is unlikely and unreachable. Well, I agree with "hope, is never a dangerous thing".

Hope is like the light at the end of a tunnel of darkness.

Hope can give a meaning to life. People live to hope for something to happen to them, and people hope to live for something. Everyone has hopes. It can come in the form of:
  • hoping that a person has reciprocal feelings of love

  • hoping to achieve that covetted job

  • hoping to be forever young

  • hoping to be filthy rich

  • hoping to be famous

  • hoping for a better world
I've got hopes, many hopes, in my life. I hope I can find that one person that can bring all the happiness and joy into my life once again. I hope that I will be successful in the years to come. I hope that I will pass my fitness test in March. I hope that I will see my friends in Perth again. I hope that I can make up my mind on what course to take.

I hope...

I hope..

I hope.

What do you hope for?

Do or Die

Army's round the corner... and I've only got one month left to buff up and get a damned silver for my fitness test. At the moment, things are not looking pretty for me. Running should not be a problem, I guess. Running everyday should do the trick. But the things that worry me now are the damned standing broad jumps and most dreaded of all ... the pull-ups.
Wish I could be carefree like Rifai. When I asked him if he was going to work out before the fitness test, this was his reply, "Hell no man! I'm just gonna sit it for the sake of sitting for it, try my luck out and if I pass, well, good then!". Boy, do I envy him. Should have started working long ago. Guess it's the last minute problem again! Haha... same as my studies.
Hmmm, guess the only thing I'm looking forward to would be badminton tomorrow with my badminton team mates - Simon, Spencer, and a few of their friends. Well, that's if I'm able to get the court in time. Sigh.. time to call then.

F**KING STRESSED!

Getting busy?

Many people are wondering what I'm doing back home in Singapore. Well, here's the stuff that's been keeping me busy...and entertained as well. It can get quite boring at home sometimes.

The all new Predator novel - Forever Midnight.

Got myself the complete collector's edition of "Infernal Affairs". Still untouched. Hope it's as good as "The Departed".

The shoes that keep me going. Gotta keep running. NS round the corner.

Gotta keep lifting too. Still can't do a single freakin S.O.B pullup.
~
and now
featuring...
JAWS 4 or 5

The "Great White Shark" eyes the half eaten guo tie hungrily...waiting to leap up and take a bite.

It took it's chances and took a huge bite... guo tie missing.

The ruthless predator spots another whole guo tie dangling from a crane.... it waits...

...and strikes again! This time the crane isn't spared... as Jaws left it in shambles... with guo tie missing again...
Satisfied from the easy meal, Jaws finally retreats back into the deep waters...

... for a little nappy... zzz...

Agreed

When I was touring Kuching, I met up with a few of Lionel's friends. They are a bunch of nice people. But there was one guy, with a shirt that caught my attention. I think I totally agree with what was displayed on it. Absolute truth.
10 Things Men Understand About Women.

Yup, that's it.

We know nothing.

Sorry ladies.

No offence.

It's the truth.

Kuching

I LOVE KUCHING!
YOU WILL TOO!

This post is FINALLY up and ready! My 2 week trip to Kuching was a total blast. The food was awesome and it was great meeting up with my friends from Perth one last time. I gotta thank Lionel for everything during the 2 weeks. His family was nice enough to let me stay on at their place, and not forgetting the countless times they brought me around Kuching and at the same time making me feel at home. It was nice to meet up with Nick, Brandon, Raymond, Madeleine, Chin Howe, Derek, Jane, Kai, Karen and Adrian... all hail from Kuching (except for Ray). And last but not least, Sarawak Laksa kick's ass! I'm addicted to it! Right now, I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms. Hope to visit Kuching another time, and hopefully spend more time at Damai. Enjoy the pics... you should.. after all that hard work!

All hail the Sarawak Laksa! Crave it!

The not-so-original laksa. Fusion laksa as Lionel calls it.

The Sunday Market. You can find almost anything. From fruits...
...to little fishies...
...and even THIS! Sago worms... yum!

Welcome to Friendship Park.

A nice place for a little stroll.
Can even take a quick shower too!

The Kuching Museum. Think I got the name right.
Lookie what I found. Graphic... indeed.
The nice little park behind the museum. I think it also has a name.
And here we have two silly people running at a painted wall.

Yes. I know.. I know.. Poser.
Me and Cheeky!
My oh my! Just pretend it isn't there.
Damn! The root's taller than me!

Bing! Coffee Company. Love them Red Mango Smoothies..
..love the ambience..
..and love them pictures!

Spooky ain't it?
The Civic Centre that wasn't open for us. @#$%!

Indian Street. How peaceful... unlike daytime.
Now.. who's the cheeky one?

Derek playing with his arsenal of knives.

Oooo.. Nasty!

And here we have Damai Beach.
The Resort that I failed to stay in.
Pretty place. Sigh.

Look at those two kids (Lionel & Derek) racing each other down.
Damai Lagoon.
It's a pity I could not take a pic of that pretty girl at the pool.
Around the lobby, cuz that's as far as security permits us to go.

The Place that houses the Cat Museum. Yes, it also has a name.

Kittens up for grabs!
View from the top.

A FEW pictures "stolen" from Raymond.
~

Enjoyed it?

I know you did.
