The Rose.

Some say love it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
~
Some say love it is a hunger
An endless aching need.
I say love it is a flower
And you it's only seed.
~
It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance.
~
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give.
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live.
~
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long.
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong.
~
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the Sun's love
In the spring becomes the Rose.

Alone.

Up late at night,
I lie here wondering,
What life means,
Especially with you missing.
~
Praying that you'll come back,
I know it won't be given.
But this is not fair,
As you have been taken.
~
As tears fill my eyes,
I try to look for a peace of mind.
Gazing up at the heavens,
I hope that you're the one I find.
~
All alone on this Valentine's Day,
I wish that you'd stay.
Why did you leave so fast?
Is this fate, you say?

Dare to Hope.

Ever watched the movie "The Shawshank Redemption"? If not, then you're missing out on something. I gotta thank Lionel big time for pestering me to watch it. It was an awesome movie - inspiring, touching & satisfying.

The Shawshank Redemption - a must watch.

The movie is about the enduring human spirit, perserverance, friendship and hope. Friendship is an essential part to life. Without friends, where do we find comfort and support when we're away from home studying overseas? Where do we find that intimate relationship and unbreakable bond that can only be found in friendship?

Hope is the sun and warmth after the storm.

However, I feel that hope is the crux of shaping up one's life. It is the very foundation that allows people to live and build upon their dreams. Hope is the one thing that is left to us, in a bad time. Without hope, what else is there to hope for?

But there are arguments, saying, "hope is a dangerous thing". Is hope a dangerous thing? I think the only time when hope is dangerous, is when it is classified under false hope, for the outcome is unlikely and unreachable. Well, I agree with "hope, is never a dangerous thing".

Hope is like the light at the end of a tunnel of darkness.

Hope can give a meaning to life. People live to hope for something to happen to them, and people hope to live for something. Everyone has hopes. It can come in the form of:
  • hoping that a person has reciprocal feelings of love

  • hoping to achieve that covetted job

  • hoping to be forever young

  • hoping to be filthy rich

  • hoping to be famous

  • hoping for a better world
I've got hopes, many hopes, in my life. I hope I can find that one person that can bring all the happiness and joy into my life once again. I hope that I will be successful in the years to come. I hope that I will pass my fitness test in March. I hope that I will see my friends in Perth again. I hope that I can make up my mind on what course to take.

I hope...

I hope..

I hope.

What do you hope for?

Do or Die

Army's round the corner... and I've only got one month left to buff up and get a damned silver for my fitness test. At the moment, things are not looking pretty for me. Running should not be a problem, I guess. Running everyday should do the trick. But the things that worry me now are the damned standing broad jumps and most dreaded of all ... the pull-ups.
Wish I could be carefree like Rifai. When I asked him if he was going to work out before the fitness test, this was his reply, "Hell no man! I'm just gonna sit it for the sake of sitting for it, try my luck out and if I pass, well, good then!". Boy, do I envy him. Should have started working long ago. Guess it's the last minute problem again! Haha... same as my studies.
Hmmm, guess the only thing I'm looking forward to would be badminton tomorrow with my badminton team mates - Simon, Spencer, and a few of their friends. Well, that's if I'm able to get the court in time. Sigh.. time to call then.

F**KING STRESSED!
